(Officially Dr. Schmoy Schmoy). And @alanastrauss has accepted a position doing environmental research in Arkansas. Couldn’t be prouder of these amazing women. This is an in-person only event for human Geo students in the Treasure Coast area. I only have a certain number of seats so please reach out to me sooner than later. Some of you already know but I wanted to put it ou

Some of you already know but I wanted to put it out there after realizing it has caught a few people off guard. After considering several options for an extended period of time I decided it was time for a change. My last day as a full-time teacher was on December 16th.

After 21 years I still love teaching and will miss the kids dearly, but I just couldn’t keep doing it. Having to juggle a full-time career and three part-time jobs was untenable. I was worried for my physical/mental health and I wanted to be there more for @dorislunasanchez and the kids.

I’d like to make it a point to acknowledge @lvogel48 for being so supportive of my transition out of the classroom. You have been an amazing boss, my family and I will forever be grateful to you.

I’m not going to name them but there are several people (you know who you are) that gave me valuable advice or straight up offered me a job. Your support gave me the confidence to believe in myself and that I had a lot to offer beyond the four walls of my classroom.

I’m still going to keep two nights a weeks at the boarding school where I have worked as my connection to the classroom. I will still do a very limited schedule of tutoring to maintain my connection to Human Geo. I might be doing this just for the sake of my sanity because it has been quite difficult to articulate the words, “I WAS a teacher.”

To my former students, please know that your Uncle Sancho will always be here for you and feel free to reach out. My connection to so many of you over the years has been the single most rewarding aspect of my teaching career.

I had opportunities outside of education but wanted to still be in a position to help my colleagues and students. That being said, I am proud to announce that I have accepted a position in the educational technology space and am now the Director of Sales for @marcolearning. #thehumangeoguy #humangeography #humangeo #aphumangeo #aphumangeography #aphug #aphg #aphuge
